  • Took my Operations exam a day early (on Thursday) and passed. So yesterday, Friday, I started on the phones. First with someone linked up with me so they could help if necessary, then I flew solo. It's not bad at all, and if I don't know the answer "May I place you on hold for one moment?"

    I'll only be getting 30 hours next week, instead of 40, but that's still pretty decent. 8AM shift, which I'm not excited about, but I prefer that over the 12-8pm shift. Peak time doesn't start till 11 so that's three hours of non-peak time which is nice, haha.

    Cleaned up the room BIG TIME today, was getting kind of ridiculous. Tonights my last night on duty for two days. Six days straight is kind of crazy.

  • It kind of makes me sad that Xanga doesn't have the hold on me it once did--where I NEEDED to post everyday.

    So, Tuesday I put in an application to Info Spherix. Got a call Wednesday for an interview. Thursday had my interview. And today got my call saying I start Monday. Some nice progression there...

    Basically my job will consist of a lot of "Thank you for calling North Carolina State Parks and Recreation, this is Mark, how can I help you?" It'll be easy enough. I basically did reservation taking for Edgewood this summer. Won't be making to much, about 7.50 or so. but a 40 hour week makes up for that. And I'll be taking it into the semester, and potentially switching contracts at that point, which will be nice.


    ... and totally lost my train of thought.

    Back to reading Cider House Rules I suppose.

    I must finisht his book before I start going knee deep into GRE stuff.

  • Recap since school ended:

    Went home.
    Did nothing for two weeks.
    Headed back to Frostburg.
    Started working as an RA in Edgewood.
    Started working at the desk.
    Started FSU Preview.
    Experienced the magic of Dantes.
    Experiences the trash of LB's.
    Experienced Draft Zone.
    But not the beer battered fries.
    But yes to the drinks.
    Visited Greg for his birthday.
    Saw the Hangerover.
    Read Blue Like Jazz, LOVED IT.
    Ate Giannai's pizza three times in a week.
    And had their wings.
    Still amazing.
    FSU Preview ended.
    And then I drank to fast.
    Started the Cider House Rules.
    Loving it.
    Saw my half-brother I hadn't seen in three years.
    Played laser tag in Baltimore.
    Was #4 out of 19 overall, my first time playing. #1 on my team.
    Won 150 tickets in arcade games.
    Bought air heads.
    Watched Confessions of a Shopoholic.
    Hated it.
    Visited Greg.
    Beat him up.
    Went home.
    Spent 100$ at AE.
    Bought a shirt for 25$ online.
    Went to Wasabi, and spent way too much.
    Bought a GRE Prep book.
    Started studying.
    It sucks.
    Watched Cry Wolf:
    1) Anytime anyone uses a cell phone
    2) Anytime anyone uses instant messanger.
    3) Anyone argues
    4) Anytime sex mentioned.
    5) Anytime anyone says "Dodger"
    6) Anytime is visibly scared.


    That covers most of the fun stuff... minus a few details.

    Last full day of working at the desk tomorrow.
    Half day on Thursday.
    Then heading to Pasadena.
    Then leaving for Minnesota!
